Vilmos Csikos

Vilmos Csikos was born into a renowned Hungarian Gypsy family of musicians. His father was one of the country’s finest double bass players, performing with great names such as Boross Lajos, Járóka Sándor and the Lakatos family. From an early age, Vilmos was exposed to a wide range of musical styles — from classical and jazz to traditional folk music.

He first studied piano, later taking up the double bass under Lajos Montag. Since the age of fifteen, he has performed professionally and has appeared in numerous projects and recordings alongside artists such as Roby Lakatos, Tcha Limberger, Biréli Lagrène and Jordi Savall.
